What suitcase should I use when I go abroad?
How big is the luggage requirement for going abroad? The size of the box
There are many sizes of luggage, mainly 18 inches, 20 inches, 21 inches, 23 inches, 26 inches, 27 inches, 29 inches, 30 inches, etc. Specifically, the most commonly used 24-inch box has a length, width and height of 610×420×200mm, a 26-inch case is 660×490×230mm, and a 26-inch case is 735×570×250mm. For students who go abroad for further study, the extra-large air box with a size of 30--32 inches is the most ideal choice.
What suitcase should I buy? The material of the suitcase
According to their different materials, large bags can be divided into two categories: soft cases and hard cases. The hard case includes ABS (styrene polymer) case and PP case (injection molding), and the soft case generally refers to the EVA (high density foam) case.
The ABS box has the characteristics of moisture-proof and pressure-proof, so even in rainy and snowy weather, you don't have to worry about the items in the box getting wet and wet, and due to the material used, the box itself does not have a great degree of expansion and contraction, which is suitable for storage. Such as cameras, cameras and other valuables, in case the box is impacted by the outside, the items in the box will not be easily damaged, and its lock is a combination lock with a side lock.
The PP box is produced by one-time molding in the mold, so the fastness is better than that of the ABS box, which is also its biggest feature, and other features are roughly the same as the ABS box.
The EVA soft box is different. It is characterized by its small weight, that is, the box itself is light in weight, and the box has a certain degree of flexibility. It can hold more items than ABS and PP boxes of the same specification, so the capacity Its biggest advantage is that it is large, light and convenient. Its lock is a combination lock without a side lock. Some models do not even have a combination lock, and the user needs to add a lock.
What types of boxes are there?
Type A: Horizontal
This box is strongly not recommended. Because everyone usually has a lot of luggage, it is difficult to grasp the balance after this kind of box is packed, because it is a side pull, so it is either left or right. Another problem is the wheels, because only one wheel can land on the ground at a time, and the wheels don't move at all when the box sinks. The most important problem is that this kind of box needs to be lifted on one side when pulling it. If a box is 30 kg, many people can't lift it, or they will be very tired after pulling it for a while. So if the luggage is small and not heavy, you can use this kind of box, but don't use it if the luggage is very heavy.
Type B: Vertical
There are many such boxes on the market, mostly canvas. In fact, this kind of box is also very useful. The outer pockets can be used to store airline tickets, documents and other things. It is very convenient to carry at the airport. My mother still has this box. And this kind of box is the cheapest, economical and cost-effective, and the weight is not heavy, which is very suitable for students.
Type C: Universal wheel (recommended)
I used the box around (basically every year), and I didn't change it much until I used the universal wheel. This wheel has canvas or ABS, or plastic. The characteristic is the wheels at the bottom, at least 4 (my case has 16), all of which can be rotated 360 degrees when placed on the ground. The advantage is that it is very convenient to push heavy luggage, because the weight is on the wheels, just give a side thrust, especially for girls with 40 kg luggage. I sometimes pull the carry-on box with my hands and push the check-in box with my feet. When the above two boxes are pulled, at least part of the weight falls on the hand, and the arm can't stand it for a long time. Some people will say that there is a school pick-up, and some people don’t need a pick-up at the airport, but after arriving in the Netherlands, there will still be opportunities to move, travel, and return to China. All these have to be done by yourself, so I prefer this kind of wheel. The second advantage is that it has more wheels, at least 4, so even if 1-2 are broken, it can be used. Of course, if there are more wheels, it is allowed to break a few more. The downside is that these boxes are generally more expensive.
Selection of boxes
Mainly pay attention to several aspects: pull rod (retraction, firmness, thickness, etc.), zipper, lock, wheel
Finally, it is recommended for international students to use packing tape for studying abroad. First, it can reduce the burden of the zipper. Second, it is easy to identify the box. Second, international students should remember to paste their name and address on the inside of the box. Label (this label can be picked up at the airport).
What feng shui taboos should you pay attention to when traveling abroad?
Be careful when staying at the hotel
In some foreign countries, there are some religious objects, such as "Bibles" and "Buddhist Sutras", in the rooms where they have gone to work. Its purpose is to suppress Yin spirits. If you see such things, it is best to ask for a room change to avoid unnecessary trouble. Hotels usually have free safes, because the hotel will not be responsible for the lost valuables in the room, tourists should deposit their valuables in the hotel safe, and can also take it with them. After checking into the hotel, you should check the location of the safety passage and various equipment in the room, and close the doors and windows when going out to prevent items from being lost.
It is advisable to remember the contact information of the team leader
When traveling abroad, because of language barriers, you should remember the phone number of the tour guide or the local Chinese embassy. If you get lost or other unexpected situations, you can contact the tour leader or the Chinese embassy in time for help.
Pay attention to local taboos
Every country has its own customs and taboos. Tourists should pay attention to local customs and habits when traveling in different places to avoid trouble. For example, India regards cows as gods, and Hindus do not eat beef; in South Korea, it is not appropriate to talk or make noises while eating. If you do not observe this etiquette, it may be offensive. Therefore, when traveling abroad, you should listen to the tour guide to explain the local folk customs, so that you can do as the locals do.
Ensure smooth communication
Bring a mobile phone capable of international roaming and enter the necessary phone number, so that you can get in touch with domestic relatives and friends, the unit you work for and the Chinese embassies and consulates in your travel destination anytime, anywhere. Before going abroad, confirm with the telecommunications bureau that your mobile phone can be used in the country you are traveling to; if it cannot be used, look for other communication methods.
